What you see is not all there is 2023

Installation ceramic works with engobe, water colour drawings & mixed media

At the international research centre for design and architecture Domaine de Boisbuchet, Lessac, France I participated as an artist in residence together with a group of artists from world-wide locations.  I collaborated with Sydney based weaving and textile artist Catriona Pollard, creating the installation What you see is not all there is that was placed in the surrounding beech forest. The installation experimented with the placing of artwork in the natural environment, enhancing the viewer’s connection with the location. I initially painted en plein air and then placed studio ceramics that were glazed with engobe made from the local soils. Pollard also painted and then made woven pieces.
